Different duration of Bachelors of Science (higher education) in the world

Particularities of worldwide higher education

There is no uniformity in the length of the Bachelors of Science in the world. Also, the duration of a Degree usually implies the length of a Master of Science. Thus:

System 3+2 implies three years for Bachelor and two for Master, and
System 4+1 implies four years for Bachelor and one for Master.

Duration of Bachelors of Science in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) (*)

3-years Bachelor: Belgium, Finland, Italy, France, Iceland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom. In Spain is already possible.
4-years Bachelor: Spain, Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Greece, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, and Georgia
Mixed systems (three or 4-years): Germany, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. Moreover, Spain, with the new legislation envisaged.
Also, Germany, Andorra, Denmark, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, or Sweden have a Bachelor of Science of different duration
In Switzerland, it can last between four and six years

Duration of the Bachelors of Science in Africa

In general, all the African countries in French-speaking countries follow the French LMD model (licence (3), Master 1 and Master 2, Doctorat), while in Commonwealth African countries they follow English model.

3-years: the whole francophone included the Maghreb.
4-years: Botswana
4-five years: Nigeria (for poorest people the Government give them more years)
3-7 years: Kenya

Duration of the Bachelors of Science in America

In the United States, there may be a 2-year “associate degree” or a “bachelor degree” of 4-year. Even of 1-year.
Canada: 3 or 4-years. Major regional differences such as Quebec.
Brazil: between 3 (Iatu-sensu, the degree of the University would be of this type) and 6-years (strictu-sensu)
In Colombia, the degrees can be technical academic programs (technologist) (2-years), technological (3-years), professionals (4-6 years) and Bachelors of Science (5-years).
In Mexico, the degrees have an average duration of 4 to 5-years, being five years typical duration of the degree, except for Medicine. The levels are Bachelor, Masters of Science, and Doctorate.

3 - 4-years: Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand
Models very similar to the USA (4-years): China, Jordan
4-years: India, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan
5-years: the Philippines
